Description
The iPhone 16e 256GB is available in Black and White and was released on February 28, 2025. As Apple’s entry-level iPhone, it features a 6.1-inch OLED display, the A18 chip, and a single 48MP main camera.
Key features
- 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display: Features an OLED display with a notch and Face ID, but it lacks the Dynamic Island found on the standard iPhone 16 models.
- A18 chip: This model is powered by the same A18 chip as the iPhone 16, which enables Apple Intelligence features. It features a 6-core CPU, but has a binned 4-core GPU, which offers lower graphics performance than the iPhone 16’s 5-core GPU.
- 48MP Fusion camera: The single-lens rear camera system uses the same 48MP Fusion lens as the iPhone 16, providing up to 2x optical-quality zoom by cropping the sensor. It lacks Cinematic mode and the advanced Photographic Styles of the higher-end models.
- Action button: Similar to other iPhone 16 models, the 16e replaces the mute switch with a customizable Action button for quick access to features.
- USB-C port: The phone has a USB-C charging port but does not support the faster data transfer speeds of the Pro models.
- No Mag Safe: The iPhone 16e supports standard Qi wireless charging, but it does not have the magnetic Mag Safe functionality.
- Apple’s C1 modem: It uses Apple’s first in-house 5G modem, the C1, which has improved power efficiency but does not support the fastest mm Wave 5G speeds.
